Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has issued the official notification for Grade “C” Stenographers Limited Departmental Competitive Examination (LDCE) 2025. The examination will be conducted at Delhi only for preparation of the Select List of Grade C Stenographers for various Central Government Services and Cadres. Eligible departmental candidates can submit their online application from 22 December 2025 to 11 January 2026 (till 11:00 PM) through the official SSC website. The Computer Based Examination (CBE) schedule will be announced later.

Service/Cadre	Eligibility
Central Secretariat Stenographers Service(CSSS)	Any regularly appointed Stenographer Grade “D” in the service will be eligible to appear for the examination, provided they have completed at least six years of approved service as a Stenographer Grade “D”.
Indian Foreign Service Branch(B) Stenographers Service	must have completed at least six years of approved service and completed and successfully passed the required training programs.
Armed Forces Headquarters Stenographers Service	Candidates must have at least three years of approved and continuous service in Service Grade ‘D’. They must also have at least two years of approved and continuous service in the competitive examination grade. Stenographers Grade “D” who are on deputation to an extra-cadre post with the approval of the competent authority, and who hold a lien in the Stenographer Grade “D” of the Service, will be eligible to appear for the examination.
Railway Board Secretariat Stenographers Service	Any regularly appointed Stenographer Grade “D” in the service will be eligible to appear in the examination, provided they have completed at least six years of approved service as a Stenographer Grade “D”.
Election Commission of India Stenographers Service	A minimum of three years of approved and continuous service in Service Grade ‘D’ is required. And the candidate must have rendered at least 2 years of approved and continuous service in the grade. Stenographers Grade “D” who are on deputation to ex-cadre posts with the approval of the competent authority, and who hold a lien in the Stenographer Grade “D” of the Service, will be eligible to appear for the examination.
Central Vigilance Commission	Five years of regular service in the post of Stenographer Grade ‘D’ after appointment in the Commission, as per the crucial/cut-off date. For accurate and more detailed information, please read the notification.
